Fish Marketing is looking for a marketing intern to join us this fall and winter. You’ll have the opportunity to be actively involved in a variety of real client projects, work with different departments and gain experience working at a full-service marketing agency with a unique and fun roster of clients (and lots of dogs!). As an intern, you’ll be able to gain experience in the following departments - project management, digital, social, website development, and branding. 

Every internship is a little different depending on the clients, projects, and scope of work for the duration of the internship. Our biggest objective is that our interns leave with a better understanding of agency life and workflow and a larger outlook on real marketing efforts. 

What you might do/learn about:

Digital 

  • Interview someone on Digital Team to understand how it contributes to the overall marketing strategy 
  • Assist with quarterly reports - pulling data and analysis of results
  • Use Google Analytics & Adwords to research keywords, audience demographics, and other useful information to better target consumers 
  • Learn about and use SEO & SEM tactics to optimize local listings 

Social Media 

  • Assist with scheduling content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter via content management tools 
  • Research social media best practices, new techniques, trends, and industry news 
  • Curate relevant content to share for different clients
  • Brainstorm with the team on social media strategy and campaigns 
  • Write copy, create content, and contribute to client monthly social media calendars 

Project Management

  • Interview someone on the Project Management team to understand the fundamentals of project workflow 
  • Assist with managing project timelines and budgets 
  • Traffic assets and content to internal and external team members 

Website 

  • Updating website content using Wordpress
  • Assist with content mapping and development 

Branding 

  • Interview someone on the Brand Team to gain a better understanding of client services and creating brand strategies 
  • Research industry trends and competitors 
  • Collaborate with brand team on project briefs

Skills we are stoked about:

No additional skills are required. The internship is a learning-based opportunity. Other skills that are useful but not required would include:

  • Photography/videography experience
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge 
  • Google Suite knowledge 
  • HTML and/or WordPress Knowledge
